The Montafon offers locals and tourists a lot of sights. The offer ranges from buildings steeped in history to interesting museums.
Mining Museum:
The Montafon Mining Museum has been located in the Silbertal municipal office since 1996. It tells the exciting history of mining in the Montafon right up to the present day. The focus is on a gallery with a mine hunt and miner. Documents, historical photos, traditional tools and numerous ores from the mining area complete the collection.
Local History Museum:
The Montafon Local History Museum is located in Schruns and is one of the oldest of its kind in the entire Alpine region. As early as 1906, a committed group began with the collection, which has been on display since 1978 in the former Bergrichterhaus - a late medieval building with a more recent extension - on the church square.
Tourism Museum:
The Montafon Tourism Museum is housed in the former Gaschurn Frühmesshaus. The building was mainly made of wood and modeled on the style of old Walser houses. This had to be rebuilt after a fire in the early 19th century. The empty memorial courtyard was finally given its new function as a tourism museum in 1992.
